1. provisional order 2. quia timet bill \kw(( t(m(t - \ (Lat: Because he fears or apprehends) in equity practice, the technical name of a bill filed by a party who seeks the aid of a court of equity, because he fears some future probable injury to his rights or interests, and relief granted must depend upon circumstances. H.C.B. 3. temporary injunction : a preliminary or provisional injunction, or one granted pendente lite; as opposed to a final or perpetual injunction. A provisional remedy to preserve subject matter of controversy pending trial. It is one which operates until dissolved by interlocutory order or until final hearing on matter. H.C.B. 4. interlocutory injunction : is an injunction granted for the purpose of keeping matters in status quo until a decision is given on the merits of the case 5. supersedeas : a writ in fivers cases, signifying in general a command to stay or forbear the doing of anything. The word is especially used with reference to the superceding of a commission of the peace, which suspends the power of the justices therein mentioned, but does not totally destroy it. JBS.
